About NewsStory
NewsStory is an independent Indian website with one job: to explain what people are searching for right now. When a match, a film, a phone leak, a government announcement or a festival sends a topic up the search charts, we write the page that answers the questions behind the spike. What is it? Why is it trending? What actually happened? What are the details, and what should you do next?
We currently publish 112 articles across 10 sections, and we add and update pages through the day as stories move.
Why trends, and why this way
A trending topic is a moment when a lot of people want the same information at the same time. Most of what they find is either a bare headline or a page that repeats the keyword without answering anything. We try to do the opposite: research the topic properly, say plainly what is confirmed and what is rumour, link to the sources, and keep the page updated so it stays useful after the first rush has passed. We do not compete with large news organisations on breaking news; we focus on understanding.

How a trend article is made
We watch public trend data, including Google Trends, to see what is rising. A person on the team then researches the topic from primary and reputable sources, writes an original explainer in a consistent structure, and lists the sources at the end. We do not scrape trend lists to publish automatically, and we do not publish a page just because a keyword is popular. If we cannot add real information, we skip the topic. The full process is in our Editorial Policy.
Who we are
NewsStory is run by a small editorial team based in India. Articles are published under the NewsStory Editorial Team byline, and the team is responsible for everything that appears on the site.
What we are not
We are not a wire service, and we are not doctors, lawyers or financial advisers. Fast-moving stories can change after we publish; we mark updates with a date and say what changed. Our articles are general information and point you to the official source wherever one exists. Please read our Disclaimer for more.
How we are funded
NewsStory is free to read. It is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. Advertisers do not choose or influence what we write, we do not publish paid reviews, and ads are always shown separately from our articles. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly labelled.
