Watching bridal beauty reels on Instagram makes it seem like — just one vitamin C serum and one hydration mask, and you will be glowing on your wedding day. Reality is a little different. For real, lasting glow, the preparation needs to be real — consistent, practical, and suited to your actual skin type. Here is the 3-month timeline that actually works.
90 Days Before the Wedding — Foundation Month
This is the most important phase. First meet a dermatologist — identify your skin type, current concerns, and any treatments needed. If you need to start chemical exfoliation (AHA/BHA toners) or retinol, now is the time — so the skin can adjust and the 'purging' phase is over by the wedding.
Overhaul your diet. Reduce sugar, processed food, and alcohol. Add collagen-boosting foods — citrus fruits, leafy greens, bone broth. Double your hydration. 90 days is enough time to fundamentally transform your skin — but only if you remain consistent.
Start hair treatment too. For damaged hair — protein treatments, weekly oiling, and heat-free styling. If hair growth is a concern — discuss minoxidil or ayurvedic growth oils with a doctor. Hair care does not give immediate results — 3 months later you will be glad you started now.

60 Days Before the Wedding — Intensify Phase
By now the skin has accepted the new products. In this phase, add brightening treatments — vitamin C serum (mornings), niacinamide (evenings). Intensify weekly face masks — rotate brightening, hydrating, and exfoliating masks.
Start your ubtan routine. Traditional Indian ubtan — besan + haldi + dahi + rose water — as a weekly facial treatment. It evens skin tone, brings a glow, and reduces hyperpigmentation. Results are remarkable when done consistently for 8 weeks.
Do not ignore body care. Do a full body scrub weekly — a homemade scrub of sugar + coconut oil is excellent. Treat the neck, chest, and arms like the face — moisturiser and sunscreen there too. These areas show in wedding outfits.

30 Days Before the Wedding — Refine and Prep
Do not introduce any new products in this phase. Stay with the products your skin is comfortable with. Trialling new products now is risky — a reaction can happen. Focus this month on maintenance and glow-enhancing.
Do facial massage daily — 5-7 minutes. Upward strokes with a gua sha or fingers. This reduces water retention, defines the jawline, and gives skin a natural radiance. Get a parlour facial — classic dahi or fruit facial.

Final Week — Do's and Don'ts
Do's: Drink more water. Sleep 8 hours. Use a hydrating face mask at night. Eat light, healthy food. Reduce stress — stress releases cortisol which directly affects the skin.
Don'ts: Do not get any new treatment or facial. Get threading/waxing 48 hours in advance — the skin redness will have time to settle. Avoid heavy exercise for the final 2-3 days — puffiness can occur. Avoid alcohol and salty food — they cause bloating and puffiness.
Makeup Trial — 3-4 Weeks Before the Wedding
A trial with the makeup artist is essential — at the same time of day the wedding is, in the same lighting. In the trial, test the products that will be used at the wedding. Does the skin not react? Are the eyes not irritated? Is the foundation shade correct? All of this should be fixed in advance.
And most importantly — remind yourself that this preparation is for self-care, not to impress someone. You are already beautiful. This routine is to make you feel more confident — not to make you perfect. Not being perfect is perfect.
