My relationship with my body was never good. From childhood I kept hearing — 'Lose some weight', 'That dress doesn't suit you', 'Go to the gym.' These words built a belief in my mind — my body is a problem that needs to be fixed. Thirty days of yoga broke that belief.
The First Week — When the Body Protested
On the first day I was out of breath after just three rounds of Surya Namaskar. My arms shook in downward dog. In child's pose — supposedly the easiest pose — my back complained. By night the pain was so bad I thought — this was the wrong decision.
But one thing was different. The yoga instructor in the video kept saying — 'Listen to your body. If it hurts, stop. This is not a competition.' For the first time in any exercise, I was not being told to push harder. For the first time my body's limitations were being respected. This small thing was enormous.

The Second Week — When Body and Mind Started Talking
On day 8 something strange happened. In Shavasana — when I lie down to relax — I noticed that my shoulders are always tense. As if some invisible weight sat on them. When I consciously released them, an emotional wave came. My eyes filled up — for no apparent reason.
The yoga instructor had said — the body stores emotions. It had seemed a big statement. But that day I understood — our body remembers everything. The stress we think we are 'over' — it sits in the body somewhere. And yoga helps release it.

The Third Week — When the Routine Became Automatic
After day 15 I started waking up before the alarm. The body knew — it is yoga time now. This was the shift I had been waiting for. When something becomes a habit, willpower is not needed anymore. It just happens.
The poses were improving too. The warrior pose that seemed impossible earlier was becoming comfortable. Flexibility was slowly arriving. But most importantly — I didn't have to think about how many calories were burned. I just felt good. And that was enough.

Day 30 — What Changed, What Didn't
On day 30 I looked at myself in the mirror. The weight was the same. Body shape had not changed much. But the way of looking had changed. Earlier looking in the mirror caused anxiety. Now there was a neutrality. This was quite a significant shift.
What changed — the quality of mornings. Earlier mornings used to begin with anxiety. Now there was a 30-minute peaceful time that was mine. Sleep was better. The back pain that was chronic reduced by 70 percent. Most importantly — my body had started feeling like a friend.

How to Begin — A Practical Guide
Just 15 minutes on the first day. One beginner video. Set no goal — losing weight, becoming flexible. Just one goal — 'Today I will sit on the mat.' Just that. When you sit down, the rest happens on its own.
