Vivo's biggest India launch of the quarter is tomorrow. At noon on Tuesday 6 October the company unveils the V80, its premium mid-range camera phone, and the S2 FE, a battery-first phone with a number that has done most of the work in getting it trending: 10,000mAh. Here is what is confirmed and what is still rumour.

Vivo V80: what is expected

The V80 continues Vivo's V series, which is built around cameras. Reports point to ZEISS-branded optics and a 7,200mAh battery, a large jump for a slim phone. Leaked prices put the 8GB/128GB model at Rs 62,999, 8GB/256GB at Rs 69,999 and 8GB/512GB at Rs 79,999, with a 10 percent UPI discount reported for launch week. At those prices it competes with the OPPO F35 Pro launched this week and with Samsung's Galaxy A series.

Vivo S2 FE: the battery phone

The S2 FE is the one drawing the searches. Multiple reports describe a 10,000mAh battery with 44W charging, a 120Hz AMOLED display, a 50MP Sony main camera and MediaTek's Dimensity 7300e chip, at a price under Rs 40,000. Flipkart has already confirmed the design and that it will sell the phone, which is as close to confirmation as the battery figure gets before the event.

A 10,000mAh battery in a mainstream phone would be a first for the Indian market. The trade-off is usually weight and thickness, so the S2 FE's dimensions will be worth checking.

How to watch

Vivo streams its launches on YouTube and its website at 12:00 PM IST. Flipkart typically opens the sale page within hours, with the first sale a few days later.

What to decide before Tuesday

If you want cameras, wait for the V80's confirmed price and compare it with the OPPO F35 Pro, which launched on 5 October from Rs 45,999 with an 8,000mAh battery. If you want battery life above all, the S2 FE is the one to watch, but weigh it against the Redmi 17C 5G at Rs 20,999 with 6,000mAh if your budget is tighter.
